Shirley Ann just starting her fairies tattoo. She doesn't take well to pain and suffered more than expected. Still, as they say in tattooing circles: No Pain, No Brain.
Paul has two full sleeves and a nearly finished full backpiece.
Alan Nazal, the young Filipino artist responsible for 90% of Pauls work, and all of Shirley Anns. He used to operate from his uncles studio in Angeles city, but now he's somewhere on the road between Singapore and Thailand.
Taken in Patong beach, Phuket, sometime in '98
Pauls back piece started off as just a large dragon, and stayed like that for a few years. Eventually, as the arms got full he decided to balance the coverage with some more back work. Plan was to have a castle scene in the background, with the dragon flying around in front. It still needs a lot of work. To the left is a castle, shaped as a skull, and below is a motorcycle with flames and smoke belching out the back. The smoke runs up the right side, turning into an old mans face and then a green genie. In this shot the dragon has just been re outlined as the original ink has faded after too much sunbathing when it was still fresh. It's still not fully finished as the artist responsible has moved to pastures new, and there isn't another that Paul trusts in Angeles.
