Collectibles
For several years we have been collecting odd or unusual items to decorate and ornament our house. The Philippines has a wealth of talented craftsmen, but they all tend to pump out the same tourist garbage.
We look for the other stuff, the stuff that most people don't usually find interesting.

Paul also collects the occasional item when he goes to other countries with his job.
The Harley picture features a 3D Harley Davidson motorcycle, carved from wood.

The car is cast in resin, and is a little tacky, but looks interesting.

An old ships light, from the Western Horizon has been polished up to make the expensive looking antique brass lamp.
The table they're on is carved from a slice of teak tree, and pegged together. No glue there.
This splendid chap was bought in Baguio, northern Luzon. He's carved from Kamagong, a type of local Ebony. He's 8 inches tall and weights about ten pounds. The shop that sold him to us let him go cheap, as he was considered an undesirable  item, by normal tourists anyways.
This big dude is cast in resin and is around two feet tall.
This is another 'unwanted' local carving, found lying in the dust of a woodworking shop. We call him Mr. Pangit, which means ugly in Tagalog, the local Filipino language. He's around 8" tall, and I've considered having a foot stoll made to the same design but around 18" tall.
Mr. Toad is about the size of a dinner plate, and is cast in bronze. he was bought in Phuket, Thailand
The three stooges.
The smaller one is cast in pewter and was bought at Changi Airport, Singapore.
This feline is not exactly a work of art, but the wood grain is beautiful, and is natural Kamagong, a form of Filipino Ebony
