| This 1909 photo shows Main St. in Belpre, Ohio before it was paved. You will also notice the B & O Railroad bridge, this bridge is still there and looks the same as it did in this photo. If you travel over the Belpre bridge from Parkersburg, WV to Belpre, Ohio and you stay in the right-hand lane you will see this same view only with a paved street and more buildings. This photo is proof that some things that were used 100 years ago or more really don't need to be improved upon if they still suit the same purpose. Let us not tear down the landmarks of our forefathers, rather lets preserve them for our children and our childrens children. |
