| Blennerhassett Island, (formerly " Backus Island ), seen here, has been home to a number of attractions including, but certainly not limited to, a bowling alley, a boxing arena, baseball diamond and many others throughout the years but nothing more historically remembered than when the little Island, located between the banks of the Ohio River, was graced by the presence of Harmon Blennerhassett and his wife Margaret who built a beautiful mansion and occupied the Island for a time.
