| This canning label, came from a small community just up the Little Kanawha River, approx. 5 miles East of Parkersburg , which was known as "Nicolette", and is referred to as such still today. The Nicolette Canning Co. began processing locally grown produce in 1913, although the cannery along with other businesses in the area of Nicolette survived the great flood of 1913, within two years of the flood they were all gone. (Just wasn't meant to be, I guess) |
