This game is designed as a competition match game, where you compete with others by having the fastest time in each level of play.

There are 3 levels of play.

There are 15 stages in the game, some broken down to smaller stages.

Players guide Ord or Cassie through many levels of game play, it is quite a drag until level 4, where you can pick up Max and Emmy, and you can see more dragon artwork. The interest climaxes at some point here though, and it won't get any better.

The main gripe I've seen is that this game is too hard with the time attack mode for young kids to play well, and the characters are too cute for the older population, as well as very little plot involvement. A poorly designed game... If you must buy a Dragontales game, I recommend Dragontales: DragonSeek for PSX1.
