"Out With The Garbage" by Cliff Ruby & Elana Lesser - Challenge: Developing empathy

Zak is confident Wheezie will love his big surprise, but Max and Emmy aren't so sure. They're right - she's horrified to find Zak has cleaned up her side of the room! Zak is baffled by his sister's reaction. After all, he only threw out the "junk." But they are "treasures" to Wheezie, and she must get them back! When her broken paintbrush and old tongs come in handy along the way, Zak starts to realize that maybe some "junk" actually is good for something.

What I saw:

Out With the Garbage
Max takes apart the toybox looking for drumsticks. Emmy threw them out Dragons call them They go down the knucker hole to Zak and Wheezie's cave. Zak's side of the room is clean Wheezie's is messy Zak blindfolds her and cleans up her side of the room, Max asks if that is wise Emmy sways Zak should ask Wheezie first. Zak cleans out her stuff, Wheezie panics and gets mad at Zak when she sees her stuff is gone. When going to the Dragon dump they land on an itch fern. Wheezie goes to the Dragon dump and asks Arlo the garbage dragon if he's gotten her stuff. Arlo is manning [heh] a recycling machine. They find her yarn ball, her rock collection. Zak hepls with a pair of tongs. They find her tinfoil ball. They can't find the button bracelet, so Zak finds a button to make a new one. Arlo has found the bracelet. He gives it to her, and Wheezie gives him a button. [Don't throw things out when they still have some other use to them, and don't throw things out without asking.]
