Episode #119A "A Tall Tale"
Written By:Rick Gitelson
Guest Starring: Eunice
Overview: [courtesy of South Dakota PBS]
Challenge: Accepting one's own differences
Eunice the unicorn, who is terribly near-sighted, has lost her glasses, and Max and Emmy join the dragons to help her find them. Max wants to steer Eunice so she can see where she's flying, but he's too small to climb up on her back. And when they spot an object that looks like her glasses, he's too short to reach it. Poor Max, who was already feeling frustrated about being too little to do the things he wants, feels even worse.
What I saw:
A Tall Tale
Max feels worthless because he's too short. Meanwhile, Eunice,
a pega-unicorn, loses her glasses and Max helps to retrieve them.
(Being little isn't bad.)
Comments: I think this experience will teach Max not to talk too differently with the inhabitants of Dragon Land. Eunice is half-pegasus, half-unicorn. I think this kind of hybridization can cause some small problems such as myopia, as peagusi need long-distance vision, and unicorns need field of motion vision, such a confusion of vision requirements would lead to eye trouble. But it was a chance between the parents and it was taken. More info on this hybridization condition here.
Goofs/Missing Items: When Wheezie drops Zak's magnifying glass, it appears in a tree ahead of them. It should appear behind them.
