"A Kite for Quetzal" by Mark Hoffmeier - Challenge: Learning to plan ahead

The gang wants to surprise Quetzal by making a kite for "Kite Day" all by themselves. They make a list of the materials they'll need and set off in different directions to locate them. But when they all return with sticks and string, they decide they need a better plan.

Quetzal can't come to the Kite Festival because he has a cold, so the group gets together and makes a special kite for him out of an old shirt, which he adores. (Making a kite)
