Annual "Miss Blu-Phi Pageant"
(RIGHT)
The idea for the Pageant came from Bro. Darius Jackson, who wanted to produce a show modeled after a sort of beauty pageant. A pageant presented a very cumbersome task wich included finding interested ladies, interviews, meetings, prizes, decorations, scene selections, renting tuxes, and a dance routine(Of course the sigmas had no part in the dancing). It required the help of the ladies of Gamma Sigma Sigma, National Service Sorority. The first "Miss Blu-Phi Pageant" was held during the spring Semester of 2001. The pageant had 14 participants and everything went well and according to the format that Bro. Jackson had envisioned. Now "The Annual Miss Blu-Phi Pageant" is one of the highlights of the greek-sponsored events at APSU.

Annual Blue & White Ball
(LEFT)
The Blue & White Ball is one of the newest annual events of the Alpha Rho Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc.. The first Ball was held during Sigma Week 2001 in APSU's University Center Ball Room. The Bruhs wanted to make that Sigma Week unlike any other, so that meant the Sigmas had to do some things they had never done before. The Ball started out as "The Sigma Ball" which was just a "spot filler" for the last night in the week, just to see how it would turn out. Because the Alpha Rho Chapter was known to dress in old t-shirts and blue & white boots, not neck ties, cuff links, and 3 peice suits. However, to the surprise of the Sigmas, the ball turn out to be a complete success. So the Alpha Rho Chapter decided to make the Ball an annual event. And it was dubbed "The Annual Blue & White Ball".
