Choose an occupation that you will enjoy.  One that will support the lifestyle you envision.  What obstacles and risks will you confront to reach your dreams?  

 

 

 

       
 

1)  Design and write a "Career Action Plan". 

 

Utilize Resources for Management Skills.

 

Place the results in the Management Skills  

 

sections of the CPPs.

 

 

 

 

Write down what your career goal or objective is.

List the activities you must do to get from  

where you are now to where you will be when    

you reach your goal:  high school courses 

and activities, community-based activities, 

jobs, volunteering, and hobbies.

  

Include timelines for each accomplishment.

 
     

If attending post-secondary training, identify possible  schools  

to attend and include a budget of costs entailed.  

 
         

2)  Analyze the career plan you have designed by answering the following questions.  

Write the report using word processing software, label it  “Career Action Plan  

Analysis - Critical Thinking Journal”.  Place it in the Management Skills Sections 

of the CPPs.

 

     What is the most important thing you have learned about selecting a career?

 

     What additional information will you continue to investigate as you pursue your action plan?

 

     What motivates you to achieve the career destiny you have identified in your action plan?

Iterative.  Be prepared to reevaluate this plan on a regular basis  (every 6 – 9 months).  

Reconsider each section of the CPP and revise the plan as  your goals change.  

Keep adding documents to each section as opportunities arise.  

3) Create a presentation on multi-media software to illustrate your career action plan. 

Refer to the Power Point tutorial on Resources for Management Skills.

Power Point guidelines for a quality presentation.

Place the presentation in the digital CPP, Management Skills section.  

Burn the digital CPP to a CD-Rom or DVD.

Present your career action plan to the class.
