aBrief Autobiography:

Born in Dearborn, Michigan in 1953, the second of fraternal twins.  Have a younger sister; had an older brother.

Moved to Florida at 10 years of age.

Left home and moved to California at 19 years of age (an impulsive young woman was I!).

Have left California three times and moved back each time (once to Tennessee, twice to Colorado).

Have lots of college credits, but no degree thus far; actually, have been in and out of college since high school graduation (1971).

aSome Former Artwork Activities:

Formerly employed in the printing trades (proofreading, typesetting, camera work, headline- setting, paste-up, design), as well as at a silk-screening company doing production artwork.

Lettering for various school awards, and other art projects, during high school, including lettering of drumheads for the marching band.

Have been an art major throughout most of my college education, but have taken lots of other courses (sciences, music, Latin, etc.).

Drawing and painting are my main interests, but I think the computer will add a new dimension.

Used to draw horses, people, other animals, landscapes, etc.

A few hand lettering projects, on a paid basis, after high school.

Would like to learn how to make jewelry and stained-glass windows.

aThe World of Work:

Various odd jobs, including sign-shop clerk, shipping clerk, and assistant manager of a movie theater.

Printing trades, including proofreading, typesetting, paste-up, process camera work, headline-setting, and graphic artwork.

Word processing and secretarial work, including legal secretarial; formerly did extensive "temp" work all over Los Angeles and Orange Counties; also ran own small home-based word processing business.

Medical transcription (approximately 15 years' experience); started out as a means to work my way through school, but have stuck with it (or it with me).

Hoping to make the switch to webmastering/website design within the next couple of years!

aSome Plans for the Future:

Completing an A.A. in Webmastering at Cerritos College (will take approximately two years).

Once I am established in the field of webmastering and design, I would like to take other courses in music (especially voice and piano), various sciences, literature, and fine arts.  I also hope to keep taking classes to keep up with changes in the computer field.

I also still hope to find success in romantic love someday... he's allegedly out there somewhere!  :-)
