| WRAPUP: The Sparks had a great regualr season, finishing in second place with a record of 6-1. In the opening game of the tournament they were surprised by the Comets and dropped immediately into the elimination bracket. In the second round they once again faced the Comets who had been knocked down also into the same bracket. Facing elimination, the Sparks put it all together and this time they downed the Comets by a final score of 36 - 28. In the next round they faced the Sky and with a great buzzer-beating shot by Dani Drayer, they won by a final score of 31 - 30. After two more games, they ended up in the third place game on Championship Sunday and defeated the Sky by a convincing 28-16 final score to capture third place for the 2009 season. |
