| Description: | This US howitzer was first designed shortly before World War 2, as the M-2A1 howitzer. It was used by the US until 1985, when it was replaced by the M-102 (which was itself replaced by the British 105mm Light Gun). The M-101 is still used by a number of third world countries, and many countries, including those in NATO and the Middle East, have them in reserve stocks. It is a conventional short-barreled howitzer. |
