Weapons Information Sheet
| Name: | M-37 Mortar |
| Std. Formation: | Line |
| Description: | This is a modification of an earlier Russian mortar, the M-36. It is a basic sort of mortar used since the Second World War for basic fire support. The Russians do not use it much any more, having replaced it with more modern equipment, but it can still be found in great quantities all over the world from Cuba to North Korea, and Poland to Angola. Polish M-37s can usually be readily identified by the muzzle attachment to prevent double loading, but most M-37s are of standard Russian design. The sight may be a standard MUM sight or the MPM-44M with an illuminated reticule. |
