Welcome to the PeopleBase Chart!
The PeopleBase Chart is a chart compiled from "playlists" submitted by members of the Radio & Records online message boards. Each person, or reporter, can assign a total of up to 1,000 points to any combination of songs he or she wishes. The only caveats are a limit of 99 points per song, a limit of four songs by the same artist on each person's playlist, and a limit of 50 songs per playlist.
These points are tallied and the songs are ranked by their total number of points, yielding the PeopleBase Top 50. During the inaugural test period, the PeopleBase Chart received playlists from 26 reporters! When the points were tallied, Lifehouse's "Hanging By A Moment" became the first #1 song on the PeopleBase Chart dated June 21, 2001, garnering 826 points and 15 reporters on the final test chart.
The PeopleBase Chart is now accepting votes for the chart to be published Tuesday, September 4, 2001. The deadline for submissions is Monday, September 3, 2001, at 11:59pm EDT. Please see the Rules below for further details.
