Charlie had gone back and got my stuff, saying I felt unwell and needed to lie down. The others had wanted to come too, but he had managed to fend them off, saying I wanted to be alone as possible.
The silence was getting too much for me, and a question burst forth from my lips before I could stop it.
How did you know what that boy was like? I asked quickly, squinting at him.
I, er, met him before. he said, turning to me. His dad owns the Resort, and he lives near by.
Oh great, so Im not shot of him for the whole holiday! I cried, throwing my hands up in anger.
Dont worry, he said as we neared the villa, stepping into shade it cast over our part of the road. Ill look after you. he grinned at me, and I smiled despite myself. He took my key from me and let us into the villa, which was cool and breezy compared to the outside.
Ill get some drinks. he muttered, and walked into the kitchen.
Okay. I answered, and walked over to the pool. I trod cautiously around a hose by its side, and dipped my toe in it, quickly withdrew it and shivered.
Whats the matter? Charlie asked from behind me. Too cold? he grinned.
Oh no, Charlie, dont even-, but he jumped in, causing a tidal wave over me.
CHARLIE! I screamed, soaked through.
He surfaced, grinning, and swam to the side.
Sorry. Thought you needed to cool down! he laughed, and I felt my heart flutter. He climbed out and walked over to sit on a sunlounger, and I sighed, dripping wet, and began to strip off my soggy clothes.
Ooh, strip show now is it? Charlie laughed.
Oh ha ha. I said sarcastically.
I stripped down to my bikini and walked over to lie down on the sunlounger next to him.

2 Hours had passed, and I looked down.
Whoa! That was quick! I cried, noticing how much better my tan had got.
Nice! Charlie said, on his side, as he reached over and placed his hand on my tummy, stroking it slightly. Even as the Spanish sun beat down on us, I felt tingles and waves of goose bumps flow through me. I got up quickly and walked inside, intending to get some more coke. Then I remembered the store of alcohol I had bought through my parents for my birthday, and smiled to myself. I walked over to the cupboard and poured myself half a glass of vodka and half of coke. I had always loved the taste and strength of vodka, and I gulped it down, giggling to myself. I went through the house and into my parents room, where I knew my dad stored a high-power water gun for surprising me as I sunbathed. I quickly filled it up with cold water and downed my glass, feeling a wave of excitement flow through me. I stepped back into the garden and took aim. FIRE! a jet of water shot from the end of my gun and hit Charlies chest, spraying everywhere and causing him to jump up, squealing in panic, until he saw me, laughing hysterically. A serious look took hold of his face, and he shot forwards, grabbing the hose. He turned it on and placed his thumb over the end, causing a wide spray, and ran after me, chasing me, shouting things like: Get here Woman! Youre gonna wish you hadnt done that!
He grabbed hold of my arm, and I felt dizziness sweep over me. I fell onto the floor and prepared to give up, but he knelt down and forced me back onto the floor, giggling and struggling. He sat above me, his knees on either side of my stomach, and used his arms to keep mine above my head.
Give up? he asked, grinning.
Never! I cried, struggling, before giving up and collapsing back on the grass and closing my eyes.
Okay. I give up. I smiled, and sighed.
Good. I heard him say. Suddenly, I felt a pair of soft, warm lips pressed gently against mine, and it felt like a firework exploded in my chest. I opened my eyes, and saw his closed ones, millimetres from mine. My heart jumped into my mouth and I parted my lips, kissing himheaven seemed to envelope around us, until a loud voice cut through it.
Soph? Soph are you back there? I heard mum call, and Charlie quickly drew back and got up, scratching his cheek as my mum walked around the corner into the garden.
Oh hello honeybeen having a water fight? she asked, looking amusedly round at the wet garden.
Er, yeah. I replied, blushing furiously and picking myself up from the floor. I looked over to Charlie as my mum began to root around in the bag she was carrying, and he looked back at me, smiling, and winked. I smiled back and looked at mum as she looked up at me.
Well? she asked. It seemed she had been talking to me.
Er, sorry what? I asked, shaking my head. Mum sighed.
You really are away with the fairies arent you Soph? she laughed.
Yeah, fairies I trailed off.
Well here you are, I got you a new sarong. she announced, pulling out something wrapped in pink tissue paper.
Oh thanks mum you shouldnt have! I cried, tearing it open. A long, blue and pale pink sarong unfolded, and I hugged mum.
I know I shouldnt have. Youre beginning to get spoiled! she cried, smiling at me earnestly and tapping my bum. She turned and walked back into the house, muttering to herself, and I followed. I felt Charlie behind me as I stepped in through the door.
See, Im not the only one who cant resist this... he purred, placing a big hand on my bum. I blushed again, and walked over to the table, sitting down and reaching for an apple in the fruit bowl. I took a bite out of it and chewed, thinking things over to myself. I could still feel my heart pounding, and it quickened as Charlie sauntered over and took a seat opposite me. I felt his feet on mine, he was using his toes to stroke them. I giggled, and stopped as mum walked over.
So, Is Sheppards pie alright for dinner? she asked, plonking a carrier bag down on the table and taking out the various ingredients for Sheppards Pie.
Yeah, cool. I smiled to her, eating my apple and gently playing with Charlies feet with my own. In a ball of energy, Jake burst into the room and jumped on Charlies lap, who sat up and groaned, catching hold of Jake before he almost slipped off.
So, where did you go today? Charlie asked his dad as he stumbled in with day-bags and a parasol.
We went and saw a lovely waterfall. There were little boats taking trips really close to the bottom of it, so we went on one of those as well, then had a picnic on this lovely spot that overlooked the whole thing Pat said, his eyes misting over as though he was reliving the beauty.
It was just lovely darling! Vivian cried, walking into the room and over to Charlie, kissing him on the head.
Hi mum. Charlie muttered, blushing. I smiled to myself. Dad walked in, singing Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka dot bikini and kissed me on the cheek and I felt myself blush, which made Charlie grin, recognising the feeling.

After dinner, Me and Charlie, and our families all sat out beside the pool on the sunloungers with glasses of expensive red wine. We must have been out there for about 2 hours, as sunset began and passed into night, with my dad turning on the fairy lights that covered the trellis on the back wall, the sides of the villa and the balcony from my room. My parents laughed, joked and exchanged stories of theirs and my childhood with Charlies parents, including one extremely embarrassing incident which involved a stage, a year 3 Christmas pantomime, me and an extremely wet pair of knickers. My cringe produced enough warmth to light the villa for a day. I looked at my watch and saw it was ten oclock, and decided to go in. After kissing my parents good night and wishing sweet dreams to Pat, Vivian, Charlie (with a wink), and with reluctance, Jake, I went inside and over to the kitchen, poured myself some water and gulped it down, before going upstairs. I took off my clothes, staying in my black bikini, and walked into the living room, where there was a large, wide-screen tv. I slipped my Yoga video out from where I had hidden it from Charlie, (behind a pot plant) and slipped it in the VCR, switching on the tv, sat down and took deep breaths. I found that Yoga relaxed me before bed and helped me get to sleep, as well as being great for my figure, and closed my eyes. Soft music flowed from the tv and I stretched my arms up straight, my legs folded. Suddenly, I felt the presence of someone behind me, and froze. The same warm, soft lips brushed against my neck, and I realized it was Charlie.
Hey. I cried, hitting the remote and switching off the tv with it, before turning round.
Hey. he said softly. What was that you were watching?
Oh nothing. I blushed, but he couldnt see it as the room was dark. Well Im off to bed, Ill see you in the morning! I said breezily, jumping up and running to my bedroom. I jumped onto the bed and screamed into my pillow.
I cant believe he saw me doing Yoga! I screamed. I emerged after my breathing had returned to normal, and lay on my back, staring at the ceiling. Soon I was asleep.

I woke up, and remembered what day it was. A jolt of excitement rushed through me, and I jumped up. I ran out of my bedroom and down the hall to Charlies room, and became silent. I could hear him breathing softly, so I opened the door and stepped inside, closing it behind me. It was reasonably tidy, and I had to admit I was surprised. I crept over to the bed, where Charlie was sleeping peacefully, and bent down to his ear.
CharlieChaaaaaaarliiiiiiiieeee I cooed in his ear. He stirred in his sleep, bringing his hand to his lips, touching them gently, and my attention became fixed on them. I bent down further and kissed him really gently. He stirred again, and I pulled away. His eyes flickered open and he looked up at me.
Happy Birthday Gorgeous. he purred. I broke into a grin.
ITS MY BIRTHDAY BABY! I screamed, and jumped onto the bed, bouncing up and down, screaming and waving my arms about. I jumped off the bed and ran around the house laughing birthdays do funny things to me. I walked back into Charlies room and he stood up and gave me a hug *OMG OMG OMG Im touching his chest!*
*Probably the best thing that would happen all day. Oh well.* I grabbed hold of his hand and pulled him out of the room and towards the stairs.
Hey! Wait! he cried. I turned around.
What? I asked impatiently.
Er he trailed off, using one hand to gesture to his body. It was true, he was only wearing boxers.
Ok, well come down after, yeah? I asked.
Yeah, sure. he winked and turned around, and I carried on to downstairs.
Happy Birthday Dahling! my mother shouted as I entered the kitchen.
Thanks Mum. I grinned.
Presents. Mum said, waving an arm in the direction of the table, while turning back to see to the bacon and eggs she was cooking.
Oh wow! I cried and bounding over to the table, sitting down and pulling the nearest present towards me. I proceeded to rip it open, and found to my delight a Stereo with 3 cd rack.
Thankyou mummy! I called to her, and ripped open the rest of my presents. Charlie came down as I was on my last present, a silver ring with two dragons entwined on it (my present from Aunty Pam: very weird, lives on a mountain somewhere.)
Oh no, I didnt get you a present! Charlie exclaimed.

Oh dont worry, Ive only known you for 2 days! You dont have to get me anything.
Oh, I have the perfect thing. he cried, and reached up behind his neck, unlatching a hidden necklace. He walked around the table and knelt in front of me, reached behind my neck and began to do it up. I observed his face as he did it, screwed up with concentration, his tongue poking out of his mouth.
Okthere. he said, and took his hands away. I looked down at the necklace. It was a silver Chinese symbol on a black string, and I put my hand up to it. It felt cold against my neck, and I smiled at him.
Thankyou. I whispered.
Dont mention it. he grinned. It means, he said, reaching up and tracing the shape with his finger, Always.
I smiled at him, leant forwards and kissed him on the cheek. Out of the Stereo, the 150 FCUK vouchers, the clothes and the new mobile phone, I valued this the most. This wasnt just some article of clothing or gadget it was a symbol, a deep, thoughtful thing to have.
So what are you doing tonight for your birthday then? He asked, straightening up and sitting back in his seat.
I dunno, I think I might go clubbing with Jazz, Leah and Charlotte. You can come too if you want, bring Matt and James. The more the merrier! I said smiling, as mum walked over and began dishing up bacon and eggs onto plates in front of us.
Yeah, sounds cool. he grinned, reaching for a knife and fork.
Yes. I thought to myself. Charlie with me all night!
Dad walked in and over to me, kissing me on the head.
Hey Daddy. I smiled.
So, are you coming with us on the scuba diving trip Charlie? My dad asked Charlie, smiling at him.
Er, Im sorry, I dont have any money. Charlie apologised.
Oh nonsense Charlie, you dont have to pay! My dad laughed.
Oh er, ok, sure! Sounds great! Charlie enthused.
*Could things get more perfect? ALL DAY!*
