�What do you mean she can�t make it?!?� An annoyed Kaci shouted down the phone. �Other plans? I�ll give her other plans! � Ok� Ok. I�ll see you in 10.� She slammed down the receiver. The girl stood by the door waiting for her friend.
TAP�TAP�TAP� �Hey they both said, and made their way to the living room. Brushing away the blonde hair from her face, Kaci sat down and set her eyes on the face of her friend who was looking no happier than Kaci. �What are we gonna do Laura? She was our only chance. Now whats gonna happen?� �I don�t know� She replied, with annoyance in her voice. �We could always go there on our-� �No, no way. We can�t afford a taxi all the way there which means we would have to take your car, and we don�t know how to get there. Only Lauren does.� She sighed. �What were her �other plans� anyway?� Kaci asked. �Oh�Just some guy she met.� Explained the brown haired girl. �Typical, bloody typical. Well isn�t this great. Its 8pm, the only person who knows how to get to Club Detention is Lauren, who�s ditched us for �some guy� AND we�re meant to leave tomorrow at 7am!� Kaci yelled sarcastically. �Look�Kaci. We could get there our selves. My offer still stands. If you change your mind, call me.� Kaci looked up as Laura made her way out of the door and down the stairs of the flat. �Just my luck.� Thought Kaci, �Its always the way when ever some thing good comes along� She rest her head on her hands, thinking of the outcome if she decided to go with her friend. �I suppose it wouldn�t be so bad.� She muttered �Nothing bad will happen. I�m sure.� After rushing to open the window, she shouted down to her friend. �I�ll see you in the morning then!� Both girls smiled. BRRRIIINNNGGG!!!�. �ARGH, no, no ARGH� Kaci Moaned. She looked at her alarm clock. It read 6:40 �6:40, 6:40! I�m never gonna be ready in time!!� Getting out of bed, she dragged herself to the bathroom. �Kaci. Kaci� OI KACI, YOU IN THERE?!� Shouted an excited Laura through the letterbox. �Hang on, hang on, not every body is awake at this time of the morning. Especially me!� Replied Kaci, opening the door. �All set?� �Yea, lets go!� �Before we start, you DO know where were going� Right Laura?� Asked the unsure girl. �We�re not all worriers like you Kace! Live a little why don�t ya!� They set off. �Seems ok so far.� Thought Kaci. �And it looks like she knows were shes going! Brill!� She sat upright and looked out of the window with a smile on her face. Stroking back her long hair with her right hand, �Finally realised I know where I�m going eh??� Laura giggled. The pair pulled over in the car. Looking at the map, Laura�s expression changed. �Uh oh� �Uh oh what?!� Kaci took hold of the map and studied the marked lines. �Oh good! We�re lost!� The girl shouted. �I knew this would happen! Not to mention that its pitch-black outside and that we�ve got no more food left!� �I�I�ll go an�and look for h�help� Stuttered Laura. �I�ll ask for di�Directions. There should be a�a caf� around here. I�ll get us something to eat. Just w�wait here.� Her throat cracked up as she shut the car door, leaving the other girl behind. �What have I done? What HAVE I DONE! We wont get there by tomorrow. There�s no chance.� Tears streamed down Laura's face as she walked through a nearby field. �She�s been gone 15 minutes. I�m sure she won�t be much longer� Looking at her watch, Kaci sighed. Squinting her eyes, Laura tried to make out what she thought was a car parking in a car park. Running towards it for a closer look, she fell. �Shit!� She shouted, touching her forehead and feeling a trickle of blood running down her face. �It�s too dark, I�ve gotta be more careful� The girl thought. The closer she got, the better she could make out what was ahead. �Kay�s Caf� She read. �A caf�! A caf�! There�s hope!� As Lucy picked up the pace, she made her way to the car park. Tired, she lent against a lone car in the middle of the car park. �Come with me� A deep rough voice said. The grey figure grabbed her by the arm and started to pull her into the darkness. Screaming, Laura tried to pull away, but with no luck. She was trapped, her life flashing before her eyes. In too much shock to think of what to do next, the girl kicked the man and managed to break free. With tears running down her face, and stumbling as she ran, she reached �Kay�s Caf� and fell through the door. Laura quickly scanned the room. Hardly anyone was there. Two guys with the backs turned, occupied a table in the corner. Without saying a word, but still crying the distressed girl brought herself to walk to the nearest table. �WOAH! What a state!� She heard from the other side of the room. The girl turned around to see a guy aged 18-20 with a black streak through his blonde hair staring at the mess, which was Laura. Falling to the floor and crying a flood of tears, she was a heap on the floor, even more upset than before because of these comments. �MATEAGE! LOOK WHAT YOU�VE DONE! THAT POOR GIRL!� Shouted the other guy. The second guy started to walk over to her. He knelt down beside her and took hold of her hand. Laura lay motionless on the floor. �Never mind Matt. You should see him when he wakes up in the morning! Ten times as worse!� He joked. �I�m Charlie by the way.� With a moan, Laura began to sit up. �Oh no, Kaci.� She moaned. �Who�s Kaci? Is she in trouble?� Charlie asked. �She�s in my car, I�ve been gone ages. Ive gotta go back.� She pulled herself up to standing position, but then stumbled back down to the ground. �Hey, hey, go easy there.� Charlie sat the girl down. She looked across the room in the direction of where Matt was sitting. He could feel her eyes on him and gave Laura a sorry look. She stared down at the pattern on the floor. �He doesn�t have to sit there alone you know.� She whispered. �I know� Said Charlie. �Matt knows that too. I think he�s scared of me shouting at him again!� �Lets go over to him.� �No, you need rest, he can come over to us.� Standing up, Charlie signalled for Matt to come over. �Come on the mateage! Stop feeling sorry for yourself! Join us!� �Ok, now I�m worried� whispered Kaci. �Oh God, I�m talking to myself!� She picked up her phone and dialled Laura's number. �Great one Lauz!� She shouted as the girl suddenly heard Laura's �One Love� ring tone coming from the back of the car. �I�ll give it another 20 mins. Then I�m going to look for her.� �Uh�Charlie. Her heads bleeding!� Warned Matt. �Its still bleeding!?� The injured girl weakly replied. �Ok�Ok� Ok every body stay calm! I�ll just get...uh�What did you say your name was?� �Laura� �Laura�� He repeated �Uh right, ok, well I�ll get something for your head Laura.� Charlie shook himself out of a daydream and walked off. Looking up at the unknown girl in front of him, �I�m really sorry� about �� �It�s ok Matt� �I tend to speak my mind a lot. It�s not always a good thing? Is it?� The guy joked. �Do you mind telling me what happened?� �Ok, I�ll tell you.� Towards the end of Laura's story Charlie returned with a first-aid kit and some food. He smiled and returned to his seat. �Lets get you cleaned up eh?� he said. �It�s ok�I�I need the loo. I�ll take the first-aid kit with me.� Taking the first-aid kit and her bag with her, Laura, with her leg still in pain from when she fell over, made her way to the toilets. �What�s her story then?� �You wanna know?� �Why else would I be asking Matt, why else?� �What a mess, what a mess� cried Laura to her reflection in the mirror. Still thinking of Kaci�s safety, She tried to clean off the blood from her fore head as quickly as she could. After putting a skin-coloured plaster over the wound, she wiped off the remains of her make up and reapplied it. �I think I like her Matt." Muttered Charlie. �I...� �But you don�t even know her! All you know is that her and her mate are lost God knows where, she hit her head on God knows what and nearly got attacked by God knows wh-. HEY! Don�t nudge me! What did you do that for?� Matt shouted ��.Oh� A girl walked out from the toilets. Her face was the complete opposite of what it was before, no blood, and no smudged make up. Her limp was still the same but it didn�t seem to bother her as much. �Hey guys.� She smiled. � I feel much better now, but I�ve gotta phone Kaci.� Charlie pushed his mobile in her direction. �Oh thanks.� �Anytime.� Laura carefully typed in the number. Kaci answered. �Kaci, its me. I�m ok, just stay there. I�m on the other side of that field. I�ll make my way back across in a minute. I�ll explain later ok? Bye.� �Yea sure� Was Matt�s answer. The three got into the lonesome car in the middle of the car park and drove for what seemed like forever. The car stopped and they were greeted by Kaci, who was looking rather relieved indeed. She pulled Laura away for a moment, asking about a situation that was ahead. �Uh Laura� �Yea� �Where are we going to sleep?� �In the car� �OH SO WERE GONNA SLEEP IN THE CAR ARE WE?!� �Well we can�t really afford anyplace else you know. The money is for Club Detention� �Lauz� �Yea� �Where�s my food?� �Oh�� The girl opened up her bag and handed her friend a packet of polo mints. �Oh thanks!� Kaci rolled her eyes. �So who are those two guys?� She whispered. � The one with the black streak in his hair is kinda hot!� Charlie and Matt joined the two girls. �This is Charlie and this is Matt� Laura introduced them to Kaci. �If it wasn�t for these guys, who knows what kind of state I would be in right now?� �We hear you�re headed for Club Detention� Said Matt. �So are we. Me and my mateage couldn�t help over hearing that you don�t have any place to stay and well�umm... we were wondering if you wanted to stay with us in our hotel rooms?� Both Laura and Kaci agreed and followed the guys in their car. �Now that we�re at the hotel, I suppose we should sort out who�s sleeping where.� Noted Charlie. Both girls didn�t mind whose room they were in. �Well in that case then! Kaci you can come with me!� Laughed Matt. The two went off to their room. �Well it looks like its us two together� Smiled Charlie. �I�ll take the couch so you can take the bed, yea?� �Yea ok.� Laura replied. Out side the two rooms, they all said their good nights and entered the separate rooms. �If you wanna get changed or what ever� Charlie gestured towards the bathroom. �Well�uh�I kidna didn�t think I would be sleeping apart from a little bit in the car so I didn�t really think that I would nee-� �No problem� The guy interrupted. �I�m sure I�ve got a t-shirt you can use. Here ya go.� They both smiled and when their separate ways. �I�ll be back in a minute!� Shouted Charlie. The room next door was where Matt and Kaci were staying. KNOCK�KNOCK�KNOCK�. There was no reply. �Mateage! Open up!� could be heard from the other side of the door. The door opened. �What�s up?� Asked Matt. �Well...I let her�uh...Laura borrow one of my shirts and I think Kaci will have to borrow one of yours�� �Charlie, get to the point.� �I like her. I really like her, but I don�t think she feels the same way.� �Just tell her. That�s what you got to do.� The door slammed. �What was all that about?� Kaci asked ��Do you need to borrow one of my shirts?� Matt asked �As a matter of fact�� Laura had returned from the bathroom, just as Charlie had returned from speaking of Matt. �I think I look pretty good in on of your shirts actually!� Laughed Laura Smiling, Charlie replied, �Yea you do� He looked way from the girl that was standing in front of him. �I can�t do this.� �Do what?� Asked Laura �Look, you don�t have to say anything, but�I really like you Laura. I�m sorry ok, Im sorr-� �I like you too. I just thought you weren�t interested in me� Charlie lent over to kiss her and their lips were locked together. His hands touching every inch of her body, and her hands running though his hair. With Charlie on top of her, kissing Laura's neck, �Are you sure?� �I�m sure� The next morning the four met up for breakfast. �Hey! Over here!� Kaci yelled. All four started to eat breakfast. Before taking another bite of toast, Matt looked over to where Laura and Charlie were sitting. �Some one was busy last night eh?� Both guys smirked, and Charlie tried to change the subject. The girls began talking about how they had gotton lost. Kaci looked down at her plate, �Laura, Matt told me what happened yesterday, k?� �Yea, k� Charlie put his arm around Laura and kissed her head. �Wait �till Lauren hears about what happened without her!� Kaci said to her friend. �Yea, I bet that guy she was with is over now. She said his name was James Bourne�� �JAMES!� Both guys said �You know him?� Asked both girls �He�s our mate, he said he wasn�t coming with us because of some mystery girl.� �Luce, now that we�re alone, I want to ask you what�s the deal with you and Charlie?� �Well, we�re gonna see how it goes for the moment, nothing too serious. What about you and Matt?� �At the moment we are just going to stay friends, but who knows?!?� �Hurry up girls! We don�t want to be late!� They both heard coming from the two guys on the other side of the room. �Yea, ok!� They replied |
