I woke up again and rolled on my side 8:15pm read the alarm clock.
�Damn! I must stop nodding off� I said to myself before quietly stepping out of bed and into the hallway. I noticed the door of Matt�s bedroom open as he walked out and into the bathroom. I quickly hid behind my open bedroom door, making sure he didn�t spot me. As I poked my head out from behind the door, all was clear, I quickly made my way downstairs and carefully opened the front door, before rushing outside, shutting it quietly behind me. It was pretty dark outside and absolutely freezing, I could understand at night why Matt thought this place was scary, but that didn�t stop me. I carried on walking up the valley where the crowd had been earlier on that day. I wasn�t really sure why I was outside, maybe I thought I�d find something which would help me understand what the fight was about, as I got closer to where the scene had been I heard a snap of a twig behind me, I sharply turned around. �Hello?� I called out �who�s there� No answer. I carried on walking; this time humming to myself to drown out the noises which were making me jump. By now the temperature had dropped dramatically, I could feel my heart pounding against my chest, and could see my breath as icy white clouds. I hugged myself to keep warm as my teeth chattered, and hands trembled. Suddenly I heard a groan coming from the woods, on the other side of the valley. �Hello?� I called out again, this time louder. �Where are you?� I stopped and listened for a reply, there it was again, the awful groaning sound of someone in pain. |
