�What!� said a surprised James who got up off the floor and sat down besides Emma �you can�t leave!�
�Why not?� said Emma, choking back tears �I�m not wanted here!� �You just can�t leave!� cried James who was now choking back tears himself �your like one of my true best friends right now�the only one I can really trust� Emma smiled weakly and hugged him. �SLAM!� went the front door of the apartment �They�re back!� jumped Emma �I�m gonna sit in the garden out of their way�. James nodded and stood up, wiping tears from his eyes and straightening his shirt. Emma headed out the door �Emma�� said James, stopping her from walking out the room �Yes� she turned around �This �secret���it can�t last forever you know� he choked Emma didn�t say anything; instead, she smiled weakly then walked out of the room. As Emma stood on the landing she saw Tara and Charlie making their way up the stairs. She took in a deep breath and hung her head down before walking downstairs trying to avoid eye contact with Charlie. Charlie looked up the stairs, �Great� he thought �I really can�t see why Emma�s still living here, no one wants her here� as he held hands with Tara, watching Emma skip quickly down the stairs he noticed a pair of drum sticks blocking the way of one of the steps. With some quick thinking in mind Charlie brushed the sticks with his foot towards Emma�s side of the step on purpose. As he watched her continue to skip down the stairs he suddenly felt slightly guilty for what he had done, but it was too late. Emma, who was looking down trying to avoid eye contact, tripped over the sticks and suddenly went flying towards the floor, landing on her stomach also causing her nose to bleed. Tara turned around in shock �Emma, are you ok?� she asked. �Yer fine� she ached in pain �Yer come on Tara she�s fine, it was just an accident, lets go� spoke Charlie coldly as he ushered Tara into his bedroom, giving Emma a disgusted look before he followed her in. �SHIT, WHATS HAPPENED HERE?� said a shocked James who rushed out of his room when he heard the loud crash of Emma landing on the hard, wooden floor. �Nothing, I tripped� lied Emma, as she groaned in pain. James almost flew down the stairs to Emma�s side and carefully picked her up, carrying her to the sofa. �Emma� said James rolling his eyes �It was Charlie weren�t it?� �NO!� she yelled, although deep down she knew it was, she just couldn�t bring her self round to admitting it because she knew Charlie wouldn�t do such a thing, it was just he was so angry at her. �Ok, whatever you say� sighed James �ARGH!� cried Emma, gripping her stomach while taking in short breaths �OMG� yelled James �the baby�s hurt isn�t it!� �No�� whispered Emma �I felt it kick for the first time� she laughed slightly �that fall must have woken it up. Oh and James keep your voice down about the baby� �Oh yer soz� he whispered back �Er�can I feel it?� he asked shyly �Sure� she replied happily lifting up her top to reveal a slight bump below her belly. She couldn�t believe it was showing already. James rested his warm hands on his stomach, smiled slightly when he felt the kick then pulled away. �Its not fair keeping this miracle from Charlie you know?� Emma pulled down her top and struggled to get up from the sofa to make her way into the garden �I have to� she choked �I have no other choice� James� saddened eyes followed her until she was out of sight. What a mess, he thought. |
