Fire-Flight ©2002 Gregg Jacobus In the legends of old they tell Of a time before man when death In the form of a beast from hell Could kill with a blast of it's breath Aged, timeless creature of myth Conceived in the infernal flame Born from the cavernous abyss Time has come round to lay his claim Parchment wings unfurl from his breast Stretching upwards ever so high He turns his head towards the west And launches himself towards the sky Soaring high above all the land Absorbing all that which he sees Scorching the earth into black sand Piles of ash where once stood trees Earth now reshaped to his ideal He can soon return to his sleep To his lair where dreams become real To the peace of his stone keep |
