Toronto Selects 'Bed'
“The Other Side of the Bed,” the most successful Spanish film of the year will be featured in the prestigious Gala selection of this year's Toronto International Film Festival. Emilio Martinez Lazaro's musical comedy starring Ernesto Alterio and Paz Vega became the country's surprise hit as it surpassed Pedro Almodovar's anticipated film “Talk to Her” at the box office and held on to the top spot for the majority of the summer. ‘Bed' also received critical praise including high honors at this year's Festival de Malaga. Other films to watch at the festival are “Talk to Her,” Patricia Cordoso's “Real Women Have Curves,” Carlos Carrera's “The Crime of Father Amaro,” Chus Gutierrez' “Poniente,” and “Juan Carlos Fresnadillo's “Intacto.” The 27th Annual Toronto Film Festival starts today and runs thru Saturday September 14th.
