I just made a trip today to a city called Tifton (in Georgia) which is about 175 miles south of Atlanta (about a 2.5 to 3 hour drive).
I stopped at a McDonalds (not to eat though!) and found a payphone at the edge of the parking lot.
I had my Sony DSC-F707 camera with me and shot some photos of the BellSouth phone booth.
