First hike (Mollepata – km 88)

 

Mountains, Salcantay is the snowcapped one.

 

 

Looking back from 5000 m (16400’) pass on Salcantay.  Didn’t swim in the green lakes.  There’s a glacier here but it’s not visible in this shot.

 

 

Looking forward from the pass.  Headache and throbbing in temples instantly cured as we descend.

 

 

Second hike (km 82 – Macchu Picchu)

 

 

Norwegian companions (on left) and a porter on the right.  I’m in the center.

 

 

Note craftsmanship, these stones are fitted so well that nothing can fit in the cracks and yet they lacked iron and steel to shape the stones.
