| On September 4, 1930, the Ontario Argus, the local paper for Ontario, Malheur county, Oregon, began running an historical column written by Jacob Ray Gregg. The column was called, "An Intimate History of the Early Days of Malheur County, Oregon" 'BEGINNING THE STORY OF PERSONAL EXPERIENCES OF PROMINENT PIONEERS AS TOLD TO J. R. GREGG FORMERLY POSTMASTER AND PIONEER PUBLISHER' The column not only told of many interesting facts about the people of the pioneer era of Malheur county, but also included many names prominent in the Washoe valley, which is now Payette county, Idaho. These stories give an excellent description of the early life of the Malheur area and it's pioneers. Thank you to the Ontario Argus Observer for giving me permission to share these articles. |
