Have you noticed that the very people who have the unique opportunity to use their lives as a living example of how Christians should live and behave seem to be inclined to do the exact opposite?  I am of course talking about Evangelist. Please, don't get me wrong. There are more than a few who live their lives in a manner that would make Christ proud but sadly there are also the Benny Hinns, Robert Tiltons, Jimmy Swaggarts and many more. This site is about one of the "many more". His name is Danny Chambers. Now, Danny (That is his actual first name. Not Daniel as you might expect) seems a pleasant enough guy to be around if you're looking for a bar hopping buddy or if you were looking for someone to sell you a used car but Danny had another "calling". He entered the family business of preaching. I use the phrase "family business" because the family has been in the evangelism biz for years.
I'm sure if you were to ask him he would tell you that he is a pastor, evangelist, singer, writer, and all around Christian  renaissance man but to tell you the truth Danny is little more than an entertainer who sings Christian songs (He is, actually, a good musician) and a business man of the first degree. If you visit his website
www.dannychambers.com you will find a site designed  for self promotion and the sales of Danny Chambers merchandise and not a site dedicated to the service of God. You will find very little about his church or his ministry. The link labeled "vision" leads to a page that has been blank for as long as I have been visiting his site. I do urge you to visit his site. Depending on your state of mind you will either laugh at it's nerve or cry at it's crass commercialism. This is only my opinion, but I also think lemons are sour, so who am I to say?
Ok, now a little about Danny himself. . Danny was the youth pastor at Cathedral of Praise Worship Center In Oklahoma City. At some point after getting a divorce from his first wife, marrying the babysitter and losing his job at COPWOC he headed to Nashville where he hit the big time.
Danny spends alot of his time trying to get money out of the public (again, check his site) and staying in the spotlight. As individuals, Christians tend to be normal, intelligent people. It is when we congregate into large groups that we tend to act as though we have all the brain power of a breathmint. This is how people like Danny thrive. We want to believe in them. We want to believe that the people standing on stage who say all the right words and sing pretty songs are truly men and women of God. We want to believe in these people so much that we turn a blind eye to any evidence to the contrary.
St. Francis of Assisi said, "Preach the Gospel at all times and when necessary use words".
If your favorite man/woman of God were mute would they still convey to you the same message they speak?
