XFFanfic Issue # 2

In a recent TV Guide Newsletter I recieved, there was a rather disturbing article in there. I'll let you read it for yourself, copy-and-pasted from the original e-mail:

"MULDER RETURNS: When David Duchovny returns to The X-Files on Feb. 25, he will have company. According to The Hollywood Reporter, actress Annabeth Gish (Double Jeopardy) is joining the Fox drama for at least three episodes with an option to return as a series regular next fall. Gish will play an FBI agent with ties to John Doggett (Robert Patrick). "She is quite unlike any of the other agents," executive producer Chris Carter says. "She has been neither a firm believer nor a major skeptic, either." Doggett summons Gish's yet-to-be-named character to help on a case connected to the disappearance of Mulder (Duchovny)."

Ok, ok. It's not that disturbing for some. One of my best friends even went as far as saying that that will keep Doggett away from Scully, thus no conflict with the MSR. BUT she also brought up a bad point. They seem as though they are adding too many characters in a season. Now, though I have been a fan of both Doggett and Patrick since the premiere, I think that they should stop adding all these different characters into the already shaken plot. I mean, c'mon. It used to be just Mulder, Scully, X, Skinner, and a little bit of Deep Throat and Krycek. Now they added Doggett (though I don't mind) and now a G-woman who seems to have ties with Doggett and you gotta say, though we are all CC and crew fans, that sooner or later you have to stop adding all these regulars unless you want to rip apart an award-winning series. Now, though I believe in CC to come up with a good ending for all, it wavers a little bit every single time something like this happens. I suppose the true X-Philes and defininetly the shippers, will have to watch that darn Sunday line-up and see. I know for a fact that I will do everything in my power to be able to watch my favorite show. "
