Review of SR 819 by Sue Brody "Mulder, you are so paranoid..." WOW. That was great. That had me on the edge of my seat the whole time, and I honestly thought we wouldn't find out that Skinner lives until another episode, so I was relieved. I was *shocked* to find Krycek in the car (where CSM would normally be); they didn't put him in the opening credits just to trick us, right? I felt rather betrayed, as Mulder and ESPECIALLY Scully did, when Skinner refused to allow the investigation to continue and wouldn't let them back on the X-Files. Guess that's b/c he knew what happened to him, and knew that Krycek held him in the palm of his hand, so to speak. And now we know Mulder and Scully will eventually will... Wasn't it hysterical to see Krycek with the beard and the think pad?! WOOHOO! No wonder I read in a spoiler that he was referred to as Grizzly Adams. Have I mentioned how much I loved this ep? It's back to the old X-Files, at least for one ep (and Tithonus looks good as well). I wouldn't have thought of Senator Matheson as being a baddie--actually, had I not seen last week's promo for this ep, I wouldn't have ever expected him to reappear again (Little Green Men, anyone?)--but it felt nice. Skinner's asst. (Mitch Pileggi's wife) looked *so* much like Gillian Anderson for a couple of seconds. I really felt a jolt! Scientist!Scully and Running!Mulder were just wonderful to see. I really hope Skinner reconsiders his decision vis a vis M&S...since the spoilers say they get the X-Files back again later this season, maybe he does. Or maybe it's because Kersh and Spender die . Mulder's joke about hair didn't work for me, but I wasn't seeking quippy comments, I just wanted some darkness, some intrigue...and here it was. Chalk up a second one for Shiban (after The Pine Bluff Variant)--geez, I *never* thought my favorite ep of the season (after Triangle) would end up being by John, but that's okay. :) That makeup was gruesome. LOVED it. And MP looked *fine* in the gym. Guess he's been working out. Well, it is so nice to have enjoyed watching another ep this year. Was it Shippy? No. Do I care? No. It was THE X-FILES, and it was M&S working on a real, it actually happened case, and that was just fine with me.
