Review of Monday by Sue Brody Bad Blood meets The Pine Bluff Variant! Only on The X-Files. :) Now, onto our review... Skinner running after his agents! Ah, yes, Skinner running! Does a Phile's heart good. Mulder bleeding, with Scully standing over him (in the teaser)! Waaaahhhh... The bank exploding! If I weren't a weekly viewer , I would have said, NOOOOOO!!! M&S *can't* die!! But somehow...I knew they wouldn't. Oh my god. Darren Burrows as Bernard...ED from Northern Exposure as Bernard. A bad guy! Wow. I was absolutely touched by Scully standing over Mulder, with Scully in tears, fearing his death, and Scully trying to save all of them. THIS week she dropped her gun and went to Mulder's rescue. THIS WEEK, she acted in character. (Yes, I *am* referring to Agua Muy Mala.) Note to 1013: Please do not bring in guest writers who do not understand the characters. Leave the writing to Vince and Frank and CC and John. Thank you. This ep should have aired after Dreamland II. Would have made a lot more sense re: the waterbed, no? I know, we don't need no continuity...nonetheless, that was a GREAT scene, both the first and second times, and DD is a *great* comic actor. Hey, M&S are back in the basement again! WOOHOO! Does Scully have a nameplate yet? Where is Kersh? Where is THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE poster? And most importantly, Skinner is their AD again! Yay!!! Zippie doo dah...kind of wish DD had sung it, though. And I liked Shaft better. This really *was* Groundhog Day, wasn't it?! Love the yellow jammie bottoms. :) Love DD sans shirt. :) This was really well done. Yes, Sue LOVED an ep. :) I mean, this ep *did* happen, because the next day (which was, what, at least 55 times later), they remember it. Yay. I could buy into it much more than in the Dreamlands and esp. HTGSC. I liked the little changes that were made in each scene. I wondered each time *how* Mulder and Scully would end up in the bank and *how* they wouldn't be able to stop the robbery (kind of had me the third time, but I knew there had to be at least *one* more scene--too much time left). I did wonder why it was that *Mulder* had the deja vu and not Scully, but then again, even if Scully did, she still would have discounted it, being Skeptical!Scully. Still, I was glad that she told Mulder about Pam...I mean, they got closer the third time, right? And then I knew that Mulder would use the "He's got a bomb, he's got a bomb" the fourth time...I just didn't know that Pam would die. I think the whole concept of deja vu is very interesting... How about that "you would have stayed in medicine and we never would have met" comment Mulder makes re: fate in the second office scene, after which Scully says BLAH, BLAH, BLAH. Insert your own comment here (like, "God forbid, Mulder..." ). I had this weird feeling of Ouebliette at the end...the way Mulder felt about Pam, saying that she wasn't just an accomplice, "she just had to get away." Same thing happened to Lucy Householder in Ouebliette, remember? Granted, not exactly the same thing, because in that case, Mulder had forged more of a bond w/ Lucy, but still...it was similar, in that Lucy (and Pam) had to die for Amy Jacobs (and in this case, M&S and everyone in the bank) to live. Interesting...sad, but interesting. I am just happy to have liked an ep (in and of itself an X-File!). Felt very satisfying. I'm just taking them one episode at a time at this point. So we'll see what I think about Arcadia...I am making no predictions.
