X-Cops - 02/23/00 "I only know what I thought I saw". ~ Deputy Wetzel Side note: Happy Birthday Scully! This episode ruled. From the "COPS" credits (which were hilarious) to the somewhat abrupt ending, this episode ruled. Vince Gilligan has proved yet again that he is the best writer The X-Files has ever had. I don't think that this man has ever written a bad episode, as a matter of fact (except for Hungry, which was entirely misdirected and had nothing to do with TXF). Anyway... The show really did feel like a COPS episode, especially at the beginning as Deputy Wetzel was explaining about the nature of his job and such. I'm not a huge fan of COPS, but after this, I may be watching it more often. The scene where the police hold Mulder and Scully as "armed suspects" was priceless. I've been waiting to see something like that for 6+ years. I nearly fell out of my extreamly comfortable pompisan chair when I laughed at Scully ducking behind the door of the ambulance! I'm laughing just thinking about it! Classic Scully!!! Thank you, St. Vincent! I thought it was incredably ironic that Mulder used the cameras to manifest his paranormal beliefs. It seems that in all of the episodes of the past, Mulder has always been the one to witness the paranormal activity and never has any evidence to show for it. When the prospect of a camera recording the events arises, of course Mulder gets excited. He'll finally have his proof and be able to show the world that he wasn't reall crazy after all. Too bad you can't record fear, though. This episode was also full of those good ol' one-liners, and the back and forth bantering that we love. Again, St. Vincent proves that he knows Mulder and Scully better than Father Christopher or any of the other druids the try to write an episode. I say that if next season (if, for some ungodly reason) DD stays and CC goes, full creative control should be given to Gilligan. What a wonderful season it would be! Musings of the K.M.C. - From now on, all episodes should be recorded with video cameras. - Did anyone else get chills when the morgue lady started talking about the Hanta Virus? Flashback to movie . - Steve and Edie were hilarious, though it was a bit much when M&S stayed at their house for 2 hours just so they would be 'safe'. Again: This episode ruled. Rating: 4 lounge chairs out of five (the fifth was lost because I litterally almost fell out of my chair and could've hurt myself) "Wasp-man... dunnah nunnah nunnah nunnah nunnah nunnah nunnah nunnah Wasp-man...
