I enjoy these episodes more than words can express. Why? I dunno...

What did we learn about the mythology, you ask? We learn about the black oil, or 50 weight diesel oil that's been altered by radiation. Mulder says that its some sort of medium that allows extraterrestrial to "body jump".

Of course... why didn't I think of that?

Skinner was shot! By the same man that killed Scully's sister! And Scully caught him and yelled at him!

The best thing about these is continuity. We get a sort of conclusion for Anasazi/The Blessing Way/Paper Clip and Nisei/731.

Continuity makes older mythology worth watching and paying attention to. Its a wonderful thing.

But, this was back when CC and Spotnitz actually had some DIRECTION and PURPOSE to this mythology crap, so... of course it HAS to make SENSE and be CONTINUOUS.

Otherwise it wouldn't matter, like mytharc seasons 5-8.
