"You call me when you think I've come to my senses". ~ Mulder

Pusher was a great episode.  So was this.

The thing that I've always loved about The X-Files is the way that they usually leave themselves open to a sequel.  In "Pusher", we leave Modell in a coma, seemingly to die. Then two years later, when everyone has presumably forgotten about him, Gilligan surprises us by bringing him back.

With his twin!

The themes of "Pusher" and this one are to drive a wedge between Scully and Mulder.  It works both times, with Mulder nearly shooting Scully at the end.  Although Scully eventually convinces Mulder that's he's about to shoot her and not Linda Bowman or Modell, its still really scary to see them with guns drawn to each other.

The first time I saw this one, I jumped when "Scully" shot herself in the head.  I thought for a second it was really her!

And that's the sign of a good episode.  Surprising an astute and attentive viewer like me.

Good job, Vince!
