“This is the end... my only friend, the end...” ~ The Doors

Until I watched this one again, I had forgotten how tedious mythology episodes can be.  This one ranks right up their with Gethsemane and Nisei/731 in the “huh?” factor.  Most of the 45 minutes that I spent watching this one, I was shaking my head in disgust at the plot contrivance name “Diana Fowley” and marveling at the WMM and CSM going back and forth seeing who could best each other in comebacks and cutdowns.

By the way, I think WMM won.

Oh, and somewhere in there, their was something about a kid who can read minds and is consequently the “key to everything in the X-Files” (that’s Mulder’s story, at least) and in “the end”, CSM burned Mulder’s office and told Spender “I’m your father”.

Yeah, your basic mytharic season finale, even thought we really don’t learn a damn thing about the mythology.  I think this one was CC having fun.
