Die Hand Die Verletzt - 01/29/00 "Better hide your Megadeath albums." ~ Mulder This is one of those episodes that I have to give a giant shrug to. Well scripted by Morgan and Wong, it seems to have just about everything that one could ask for in a MotW episode, but somehow, when you get done watching it, you feel a little 'high-and-dry'. I like the story, the frogs falling from the sky were priceless, and the evil PTC was original. It was a good episode, but it left a bad taste in my mouth. It was worth watching again and again, but it's not one of my favorites, or one of the best, by far. Musing of a K.M.C.: ~ The huge snake was just cool, hand down. ~ So, how come Ms. Paddock picked that time and location to start wreaking her havoc? Why did she kill innocent people? ~ The shower scene at the end was creepy. I actually wondered how Mulder and Scully would get themselves out of it. By the way, exactly how did they get out of it unscathed? And why did Mulder feel the need to try and cover Scully with his body when the shots rang out? And the water was steaming, so wouldn't it have burned them? ~ Why did Ms. Paddock just leave in the end? Where did she go? Why was their no attempt to find and prosecute her? Its things like that that left me feeling 'high-and-dry'. Like Swiss cheese: good overall, but a little 'holy'. Rating: 3 1/2 lounge chairs out of 5. "They're right, it is already too late." ~ Ms. Paddock
