Christmas Carol & Emily ~ 01/24/01

"Mommy said no more tests." ~ Emily

They lied, Emily dearest.

Taken out of the context of the series, everything that's happened, all the people that have died, and everything that we've learned about the Syndicate and their plans, these episodes are almost decent.

But, I've seen all those damn mythology episodes and I know what's going on with this conspiracy and the Syndicate's plans, so...

They held my interest, but that's about all.  They didn't hold together well in terms of a plot or actual meaning.  I keep asking myself why I even bother paying attention to what's going on, like when Scully finds out that she may not be able to adopt Emily.  I know that at the end of this arc, everything will be returned to normal like none of this ever happened anyway, and it will never be referenced to in the future, so why even waste my time on it.

Either "John Gilnitz" is getting old and stale, or I'm getting lazy.

Rating (for both): 1 lounge chair out of 5
