S.R. 819 ~ 02/03/01

"Come back baby, rock 'n roll never forgets." ~ Bob Seger

Do you ever have a song in your head that you don't have on a CD or tape or album and they never play it on the radio so there's no chance that you'll hear it but its in your head anyway cause its such a good song?

Yeah.

Anyway... S.R. 819... S.R. 819...

Um, what the Hell was Shiban thinking?

Okay, I feel so entirely lost about the events that transpire in this one, I'm embarrassed to even wager a guess at what its all supposed to mean, but here goes anyway:

Skinner was investigating a Senate Resolution and was about to uncover some misdeeds my covert men in our government (gee... covert men in OUR government? Where does Shiban come up with these things?). He would undoubtedly expose these misdeeds, so of course he had to be killed; poisoned, actually by "nanotechnology" that build "dams" in his blood vessels.

Of course that's the absolute simplest way to kill a man and have nobody suspect a damn thing!

Oh, and Mulder and Scully have to come to his rescue in the end. Big surprise. Shiban, you're a damn genius. Mythology writing should be solely your responsibility from now on because you're so good at writing these tense plot twists and such.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

So, besides being incredibly predictable...

According to Skinner's ramblings to Scully, I would assume that he has committed himself fully to these "quests" that she and Mulder are constantly on. But in the end, Skinner's back to his old noncommittal ways. Personally, if I was Scully, I would've told him that I should've let him die, the son of a bitch. So what if Krycek's breathing down his neck with a nasty looking palm pilot. What else is new?

Because, everyone knows that Mulder and Krycek are the best of friends and hang out at a bar every Friday night...

Anyway, this episode didn't do a damn thing to the mythology except make it more confusing.

Red herring, anyone?
