Empedocles ~ 04/23/01

"Its never over." ~ Reyes

You know what I hate? Foam packing peanuts... or that shredded newspaper crap that comes in packages through the mail. You know? I mean, what's the point? Can you believe that some people's jobs are actually making these worthless items? How bland of an existence... although I guess if you had to mail a package after receiving one, you could reuse said items, but after that, then what? What happens to these lonely waste products after they're used? Do they disintegrate in a damp and rat infested dump? Do they forever reside in a box that's stuck away in the closet (you never know! You might need a box) collecting dust and forgotten until you clean out your closet, pick up the box, and spill the damn things everywhere? If you think about it, they're no good... they just add stress to our already hectic lives...

... much like "Empedocles!"

See how I did that tie-in thing?

Anyway, if I do indeed decide to keep a copy of this one, it will no doubt collect dust in my closet only to be glanced upon and thought of again when I need a blank tape but am too lazy to go the Wal-Mart and buy some.

If this is what TXF:TNG is like, count me out... was it just me, or were the scenes involving Doggett and Reyes mind numbingly boring? Guess what! I don't care about Doggett's son! Or Reyes' "feelings!" Even the scenes (too few, too few) with Mulder and Scully together (shock!) made me roll my eyes... You've only got DD and GA together in a limited number of episodes now, so USE THEM!

Oh, and not a damn thing about this plot made sense. It kinda reminded me of "Grotesque" with evil jumping from person to person and such, except "Grotesque" is a GREAT episode...

Some questions: where does Mulder work if not on the X-Files? Why didn't the WALK-INS just abduct Doggett's son? So, Scully was afraid to believe all these years...? And Scully LIKES Reyes? At least someone does...

About the only good thing in this one was Mulder's Elvis quip... man, I missed him.
