"The gangs all here!" ~ Brad Follmer, the guy you hate to hate.

See Frank, now this was a decent episode: intriguing teaser, nice D&R banter, plot that makes sense and doesn't have any glaring inconsistencies, you could learn a lot from ol' Steve.

Okay, so I can't help thinking, "what if it were Mulder and Scully," but I think I'm allowed to have those kinds of thoughts every now and then.

And so this episode was a cross between "Unrequited," "Kitsunegari," and "Synchrony" with a dash of "Monday" thrown in for good measure...

And Reyes conveniently didn't know that Scully did her senior thesis on "Einstein's Twin Paradox" and probably could've been extremely helpful in the area of "theoretical physics..."

Speaking of Scully, god I miss her. I say that if its GA's last season, lets use her all we can.

And so what if John and Monica are acting like teenagers on prom night? Its a love triangle-- after all, we have to keep this show interesting, right? And no better way to do that than nonsensical love triangles, right? Not with good stories, witty dialog, and consistent characterizations, right? (Where I live, the news anchors are named John and Monica, so I giggle every time Poochie and Reyes call each other "John" and "Monica".)

Somehow I think that if I could find a door to that parallel universe, all our problems would be solved. Anyone want to help me look?

One niggling little thing: I hate this Follmer character. He talks to Skinner like a angry father scolding his unruly son (and Skinner takes it!), then parades around like an arrogant, condescending, ass hole with no regard to making a fool out of himself when he falsely accuses one of his agents of shooting her partner. Word of the day is MOTIVE, and Reyes had none. Even *I'm* a better investigator that this guy. But unlike X, who I loved to hate, I hate to hate Follmer-- I just hate him. He's like Diana Fowley with a sex change-- meant to cause a rift between male agent and female agent, be ambiguous about his allegiance, and make everyone gasp and say "I knew it was him! God, I hate him, what a son of a bitch!" Its comforting to remember how Diana came to her... ah, unnatural end...

Bottom line, it was no "Pusher," but it was certainly better than "Diem..." "Daimo..." "Daemonicus..."

Rating: 3 lounge chairs out of 5, and no, that's not with the S8+ curve.

"Diana Fowley was found murdered this morning..."
