"Trevor" by Caroline O'Connell Spoilers "Shut up, Mulder." - Dana Scully Dear diary, today my heart leapt when watching tonight's episode of the X-Files. Well written by Jim Gutteridge and ex-props man Ken Hawryliw, it's obvious he was paying attention during filming because they've captured the essence of a good X-File. Tension, scares and gore mixed with humour and a great working dynamic between Mulder and Scully. The early scene over the warden's body was the freshest in weeks of contrivances and a lack of knowledge of the nature of the main characters. That scene alone was worth an entire series worth of Agua Malas. The only quibble I would have is that mask obscured what I'm sure were some choice reactions from Gillian Anderson. John Diehl's Pinker Rawls ranks right up there with Eugene Tooms for the Creep factor. Wonderful camera work showing "Pinky" disappearing at will through walls, but sparing us the detail of removing someone's face. (That's best left to our very fertile imaginations, I think!) all in pursuit of his son - the eponymous Trevor. I have to admit I feared for the boy's safety when Scully tried to protect him. Her track record in the series when it comes to children is less than inspiring (The Eves, Emily, Gibson Praise.), but ingenious use of a phone box saves the day. Under Rob Bowman's expert hand, Trevor was a lesson in how The X-Files should be. Anytime Messrs Gutteridge and Hawryliw feel like putting pen to paper and give us another gem like this is fine by me. 8/10 Stuff "I can't be responsible for Acts of God." Ever get the feeling this one's gonna come back to haunt him... Yup, sliced in half.! Pinker Rawls - Horace Pinker - Mitch Pileggi in Shocker. Coincidence? Hmmmn, I wonder! If anyone deserved the Wrath of Pinky , it was the annoying boyfriend Robert! Off with his head! Speaking of which... Hello, I'm a hardened criminal who's just removed an old friend's face, but you can call me Pinky. Pinky?!? Ken H. is following in the grand tradition of X-Files actors who've gone on to write scripts (come back Darin Morgan!). Remember his cameo in The Unusual Suspects as Ken who gets arrested instead of Byers? Whatever! Cal "Should we arrest David Copperfield?" - Scully "Yes. But not for this." - Mulder
