Aviation:

Ted got his private pilot's rating in February 1996, and Paula got hers on Hallowe'en, 1997. Paula is checked out in the Cessna 152 and 172, and is working on the Katana. Ted has lost his access to the Cessna 182 lately, and has been flying the Piper Dakota and Archer. For more lightplane info and services, see the AOPA page.

He's currently building up cross-country hours, in order to start work on his instrument rating. We both plan to start studying aerobatics one of these days. We've each been up for a couple of aerobatic flight, and have joined the Phoenix Aerobatic Club - here's Paula getting ready for for a ride in a Great Lakes:

We've also gone up in a balloon, sailplanes, and a hang glider, and have both jumped out of what our pilot friends like to call a 'perfectly good airplane' (Ted while in college, Paula to celebrate her 30th birthday - ok, so she's slow to catch up). Ted jumped on a static line, but Paula jumped AFF (Accelerated Free-Fall, 2 jumpmasters to help you pull the cord but nobody tied to you), jumped at 13,000 feet and had 60 seconds of freefall, and was impressed by the facilities and training at Eloy.
