Paws was founded in 1990 to help the plight of abandoned, unwanted, stray animals in Swain County, North Carolina. We are a volunteer organization with no paid officers. Thanks to our fundraisers, grants and over 2,000 volunteered man-hours we were able to build an animal shelter in 1995.
We are a no kill facility that operates on donations from kind, caring people who love animals, and are concerned about their welfare.

K.J's in Bryson City. Shawna Solito's band Dragonmoose will rock us into the night, starting at 8:30. Hammerloop, one of the areas most popular bands begins at 10:00 to closing.
