The primary species to rule Val Griffon is, of course, the griffon. They often patrol the borderlands between Tierra and Val Griffon, making certain that the highlander settlements don't encroach any further north.
The Wild Forest is beleived to be a part of Val Griffon, but is guarded by seperate races and species that are just known to NOT be griffon, as griffon are rarely spotted flying over the forest (probably something to do with their wingspan and trying to land through trees).
