Cats get new winter coats
Monie complains that her new winter coat has manufacturer's defects - such as it is totally rumpled and messy.
The change in seasons mean its time to pack away summer attire and don winter coats. The cats have been working on the task all week long, and it hasnt been a pretty sight.

Monie, the Maine Coon, modeled her new coat last weekend, although it was quite tangled with clumps of long, fine fur.

Its supposed to look like that, she snapped when asked about her new look. Quite defiant that the coat will naturally fluff and fall into place by Christmas, she is refusing any offers of licking or trimming it into place.

Also, Edgar Allan, who normally fancies a sleek elegant look, is having trouble accepting his new winter coat. The layers of fur are unruly with individual strands sticking out, unlike his nice short summer fur look.

Unlike Monie, Edgar wishes Mom or better yet, a professional hairdresser would trim his coat to make it even.

The cats have decided the in color for the season is definitely brown. Marlowes coat is arguably the most fashionable. During the summer, he favored mocha and tan: this fall hes opting for a medium length coat of chocolate brown with black swirls.

Teddy, the least adventuresome of the cat trio, fancied white and brown stripes for summer. For winter, he announced that he continue with his brown stripe motif.

The fashion experts agree that brown is the color this year. And, I say if it aint broke, dont fix it, he read from a written statement about his decision. However, in order to adapt to the winter season, he will sport a bushier, fluffier look, he added.

For her part, Gizmo has not changed her classic calico look with tints of orange. Neither will she add on additional layers to fend off the winter cold.

Pfft. Fashion shmashion. I get as much of that as I need from my spot on the couch in front of the TV, she sniffed.
