The new flavor of Whiskas is being touted as tasting great, although the primary meat ingredient remained a mystery to the boys for many dinners.

Its Whiskas and, said Monie, translating the label for her American housemates while standing outside the basement door while they ate on the other side.

And what, idiot? Finish your sentence, will ya? griped Teddy with his mouth full of the tasty morsels.
"It kinda feels like meat," determines Edgar Allan.
"It tastes like chicken," declares Marlowe.
"And!" Monie repeated.

"Pfft!" Teddy puffed, blowing wet crumbs all over the door.

Look, the label also says hjerte. Thats Danish for heart, Edgar Allan helped out.

Yup, thats the light bits. Whats the dark bits? piped in Marlowe, surveying his bowl-full quite easily because his head was in it.

Whiskas and, repeated Monie rather adamantly through the door, before she defiantly marched away.
After dinner, the boys decided to get to the bottom of the mystery.

It kind of tasted like chicken," suggested Marlowe. "Maybe it's Whiskas Chicken and Heart. They just forgot to say so on the can."

Edgar, studying the label, didn't think so. He clearly saw what Monie was talking about. The  label read, Whiskers And og Hjerte. In Danish, the word og means and. And in Danish must mean something else, Edgar declared.

Teddy grabbed a dictionary and flipped to the A page. But there was nothing close to anything edible listed under and. The book noted and joins a list of words. It also can refer to a condition or a detail. Or the word can mean but.

This is absolute gobbley-gook, Ted announced. Unless we are eating heinies, I have no idea.

Edgar, being a clever cat, took control of the situation. He immediately found Teds error in selecting an English dictionary. He chose a Danish ordbog, dictionary, for his search.

Marlowe and Ted huddled close, awaiting Edgars discovery. Edgar was in quiet concentration as he looked. Suddenly, he cried out, Duck!

Both Marlowe and Ted hit the floor, expecting an onslaught of airborne objects.
Edgar shook his head, and they picked themselves up.

As they stared at him with consternation, he said more gently, duck.
Marlowe flinched, but Ted held his ground. What are you trying to tell us, Ted demanded.

Duck, Edgar repeated. And is duck.
