| Paumanok Weavers Guild is a non-profit guild with the primary purpose of promoting weaving and weaving education throughout the Long Island area. The guild is open to all who weave and also to those persons who have an interest in the textile arts. The guild has been in existence for over 25 years with much of the credit going to our late President Emeritus, Alice Kappenberg. | |||||||||||||||||||
| Membership fees are $25 per year and include our newsletter, "The Paper Quill", which is published 5 times a year, and member discount for weaving workshops offered by the guild. Some workshops in recent years have been taught by Anita Mayer, Donna Sullivan, Joan Pao, Nell Znamierowski, Trudie Roberts, Norma Smayda and Sharon Alderman. Other activities of the guild are occasional field trips to fairs and museums, the annual dish towel exchange, and a monthly program. The guild also tries to sponsor a "learn to weave" workshop every year. | |||||||||||||||||||
| The guild meets at the Riverhead Historical Society, on the corner of Main Street and Osborn Avenue in Riverhead at 7:30 PM on the second Monday of the month from September through June, unless otherwise specified. | |||||||||||||||||||
