		Paul in Ottawa Canada Day ~ July 1st, 2000 Parliament Hill


	What a day I had !!! Well, it all started nicely. It was sunny out, no clouds in sight. My cousin and I arrived on Parliament Hill at noon. We spent the 1st hour complaining about the weather be'cause it was just so HOT !!! ... Eventually, we finally made it to the very front gate where they were letting the fans go. I was right infront. We were about 50 feet away from the stage, which was still pretty good.


Around 2h10, some guy started talking over the microphone and said what was coming up during the afternoon. And then, the guy said " ... and Paul Brandt will be out later for rehearsal" . I FLIPPED !!!!!!!! I started screaming like crazy !!! After a few minutes of begging and pleading, my cousin finally went out and went to buy me a camera.

While my cuz was gone, PAUL came out. He had no hat on ( and yes, the hair is long ) , he was wearing cargo pants, and he had an army colour shirt on. Finally, he looked my way, and WAVED TO ME !!!!!! Then, I went nuts, and screamed like crazy, and showed him my banner , and he waved again. Anyway, he did "Let's Live it Up" and couple times, and I was probably the only one who knew all the words, and that was dancing around. Paul waved to me once more, and each time he did I'd scream bloody murder. Eventually, my cuz came back with the cam.... Anyway, at one point they finally decided to move the gates so that we could go to closer to the front. But they actually removed the gate on the west by before the east ( where I was ), so I jumped the fence and ran to the next one. Now I was about 30 feet away from the stage. Around 5h00, it started raining. My cuz and I were drenched !!!! When we finally started to dry a bit, it started raining again. He couldn't take it anymore, so he left me alone on the hill and went back home. About an hour before the show , we got so see high lights of other Canada Day celebrations from the last 10 years . When '98 came rollin' around, we saw an old clip of Paul singing " Yeah !" What a flash back that was !!! 9h00 ~ FINALLY !!! I took outthat banner which I had made. It was white, and in blue I had painted " Paul Brandt's No1 Fan ! " I kept on waving it around to try to get myself on TV. When the Emcees were announcing Paul, I was screaming like crazy, so you might have heard me !!! At one point, Paul waved to someone in the audience ... Well, that someone was ME !!! I had my banner out still, and I was in the same spot as before, so he must have thought to himself " She's still here ?! " . He did actually wave to me, but unfortunatly, at the time, the cameras were on a couple that were swing dancing. After the commercial, the hosts were facing the other way for their little hockey skit, and that's when you saw me on T.V. I was wearing a white t-shirt, it was my Paul shirt, of course !!! It's the one from the X-Mas tour.there was a really good shot of my banner !!! That pretty much raps up my day on Parliament Hill. I tell ya, Ottawa is the place to be on Canada Day. Paul, once again, thanks for the great memories !!! :)
