Flushing Tennis

Sneaky

Well, the baseball wasn't the only sporting event we went to during our time in New York City. The day before the ballgame, we went to the stadium on the subway, just so we knew where the place was. It is in a place called Flushing, and virtually right next to Shea Stadium is Flushing Meadows, home of the US Open Tennis. As it happens, the Open was going on at the same time that we were there, so we after checking out the baseball stadium, we walked over to the tennis complex to have a look around. There didn't appear to be anyone on the gate, so we just walked in. On to a good thing, we tried our luck again and got into the number 2 stadium and found ourselves watching a Michael Chang match. The following day, after the Metts game had ended, we wandered back over to the tennis, and were able to walk straight in again, and this time, we got into the main number 1 stadium, and got to watch a Pete Sampras game. (That's him sitting on the chair to the right of the umpire as we see it)

Nice!
