Paul Walker wants you to know that he's not just another pretty surfer boy from Southern California. He's really an actor... who just happens to love surfing. Thats why after jumping from community college to community college and taking classes in marine biology, the guy who dabbled in commercials as a kid gave up the surf gig to pursue his passion, acting. "Growing up, I was into girls and sports, acting was just a hobby." says Paul. Sure, he'd had some pre-stardom success, like a couple toddler commercials and a two year stint on "The Young And The Restless" but when he was cast in an episode of Touched By An Angel in 1996, Paul admits he was bitten with the acting bug. Since then, he's been working nonstop on movies like Brokedown Palace with Claire Danes, a football flick Varsity Blues with James Vanderbeek and the upcoming Shes All That, in which he portrays a school jock alongside Freddie Prinze Jr. and R&B singer Usher. With all those meaty roles stacking up on his resume, you'd think that the blue-eyed virgo would be okay with being in the spotlight, buts that's not the case. In fact, at the premiere of Pleasantville, the 25-year-old was more excited about seeing 90210's Luke Perry in person than about his own peformance in the movie. "Dylan Mckay came to see my movie!" he marvles, adding that he hates seeing himself on the big screen. "When my scene comes u, I close my eyes, its so painful," he says. Well, at least we'll be keeping our eyes open for him.
