From Preface to the Third Edition 1948, Science and Sanity (1933) by Alfred Korzybski.

For instance, in Ten Eventful Years, and Encyclopaedia Britannica publication, appears an article on 'Semantics, General Semantics', which considerably increases the current confusions concerning these subjects. It is not even mentioned that 'semantics' is a branch of philology, nor is there any clarifying discrimination made between the noun 'semantics' and the adjective 'semantic'. Moreover it has many misstatements and even falsifications of my work and the work of others, and some statements make no sense. Fortunately there is another publication, the American People's Encyclopedia, which is publishing a reliable article on general semantics.

Comment : This author had also in 1954 published a book on "the marxist theory of truth" (?!), in 1965 on "marxism and the human individual", and in 1997 and in 2001 "meditations on socialism".
The book on 'semantics' continues the tampering with Korzybski's work which seems to have begun ca. 1935 with the "wissenschaftliche Semantik" by Teitelbaum (Tarski). The author, Schaff, gives prominence to the presumed Soviet mole Anatol Rapoport and the representations are extremely inaccurate.
Please note that said Rapoport was ca. 1950 confounding Korzybski's work with that by Tarski (Teitelbaum), under the head of 'semantics', this association being also altogether inaccurate.
