Shaw Lefevre

Lord Eversley

From LIFE AND LETTERS OF HERBERT SPENCER, 1908 by David Duncan

By November [1903] he [i.e. Spencer] was seldom well enough to answer letters, and took little interest in what was going on. In replying to Mr. Shaw Lefevre (now Lord Eversley), who had congratulated him " on the honour conferred on you by the Nobel Trustees," he made no reference to the Nobel Prize.    (etc)
